Life's Sprinkles

While I was in Palm Desert last week sucking in all of the floral wonderfulness the world has to offer, I had an afternoon to myself. What would Michelle choose to do in her resort downtime? What else? I'd meet up with my dearest friend, KWag. Oh, the joys of friendship. Krista drove from Huntington Beach. We spent the afternoon by the pool drinking Starbucks (Vanilla Creme is my new favorite indulgence) and observing pool characters (and there were lots of them). After an evening of dinner and Palm Springs exploration, she drove off in her beautiful Acura and I realized that dear friends are a lot like the Sprinkles cupcake Krista gifted me. They are sweet, fun, often indulgent, irreplaceable, and long lasting (in the caloric world). It's such fun to have people in my life who make me smile. Thanks for coming, Krista--you're the bomb!

KWag and the Flammable Ear Cleaner Thingy

A few years back, Kdawg Wagnon gave me an ear cleaner thingy. Now, in general, KWag is a a person of great sense, judgment, and style. So, I felt pretty confident that her gift would become one of my favorites. . .as most of her gifts do. With Kimmy as my faithful assistant, I followed the directions on the package. I put a hole in a paper plate, placed the device in my ear, and Kimmy lit the top of it with a match. About the time I could smell my hair burning, we panicked and quickly pulled the device from my sensory organ. I think we might have "pulled the plug" prematurely because nothing really happened. My ears felt exactly the same. . .dirty? I suppose there really isn't a point to this story. I was just reminded of the experience today when KWag called during her lunch hour. I love that she was getting a carrot and gorgonzola salad and thought to call me in the middle of the day. Now that's friendship.
