I Babysat & Lived to Tell About IT
Yesterday was Lori & Alan's wedding anniversary. It seemed like the perfect opportunity for them to cash-in a long awaited "Michelle Watches the Kids" weekend. For those of you unfamiliar. . .Lori is my BFF. She and her husband live in Mapleton with their 5 children. I approached the prospect of a weekend with 5 kids with excitement, fear, and trepidation. They are darling. They are smart. They are fun. They are KIDS. The good news is that I didn't lose any of them. Granted, we did have a toothpaste incident on the carpet under Grant's bed. There might be a few blueberry stains floating about. And the boys definitely played more X-Box than they should have, but considering the circumstances, all went well. I quickly realized why you are blessed with children one at a time and in time intervals. No normal human being could mentally or physically survive starting out with 5 (unless you're my friend, Kari---who started out with 6. . .bless her heart). Needless to say, I was a glad to be home in my quiet little world sipping Pero and watching the snow fall. . . .
