Missing the Palooza
So I've spent the past few days tying up last minute Valentine ends. It's just three weeks away and if everything isn't done by the end of the week, it isn't going to happen. I have 5 delivery vans, drivers, tables, signs, order forms, cards, newspaper ads, price sheets, florist, highlighters--oh, and the flowers ordered. I have extra cash registers, change, balloons, candy, and red paper coming out my ears. It dawned on me this morning that the only thing I'm missing this beloved February is my favorite Valentine's Palooza. Alicia always makes this dreaded season happier with her card making and treat providing party. I miss her. I miss the Palooza. . .maybe I'm going to have to carry on the tradition myself this year. It certainly won't have the grandeur or mystic, but there will be some cardstock and redhots to celebrate the coming of cupid and that's enough to ease the pains of florists everywhere.

wow, i just realized in the floral industry you really have to be ready for upcoming holidays and such, huh? like valentine's day even crossed my mind yet. i'll start thinking of it on the 13th. (it is the 14th, right?) and here you are, 'it's only 3 weeks away!' is there a week that goes by where you're not thinking about some holiday?
Nope--I'm always thinking. Always thinking ahead. In fact, I'm going to make sugar cookies on Saturday. . .even though Kimmy and I are steering clear of the processed dream.
I don't know if we're having a palooza or not, but if we do it sure won't be complete w/o you. Or your yummy treats that you are always sure to bring (you know that apple dip that you've brought once, maybe twice to palooza? I made some for a baptism, people went crazy. It's real easy to impress around these parts.)
