Tulip & Friends
It was back to reality today. Telephone calls, dry skin, customers, vendors, meetings, folding laundry, and junk mail. The good news is that I didn't mind any of it. The good news is that the best kind of vacations make all of the everyday stuff doable again. It's no secret that I love Seattle. For some reason, it relaxes me. I love the abundance of Starbucks, fleece, ferries, Farrars, and foliage. It's like a photographer's dream world. In fact, I had Kirsti shooting with one camera while I managed XT. We had a great time. Some might even say we had the perfect long weekend getaway--other than a few unfortunate run-ins with hot cocoa and a lost wallet. . .but other than that, AMAZING. Of course, my initial excuse for going to Seattle was to be at the tulip festival and--though the fields were past their prime, I wasn't disappointed. The tulips were beautiful. . .almost breathtaking and my photos don't do them justice. I can't even describe the colors or the sheer magnificence. I deal with tulips everyday of my spring life, but there is something amazing about seeing them coming up from the ground with all of their friends. One tulip wouldn't make any statement, but that tulip with all of his/her friends. . .now that is something to behold. Life lesson? Yes, I think so.

Yes, you're right spring in Seattle is kind-of relaxing (except when people try to scare yo at the airport:) And yes, I did run into a lot of fairies and Farrar's.
