Back from Paradise

I'm back from Palm Springs. . .totally relaxed, totally thrilled with my experience, totally inspired. This is just one of hundreds of designs I saw at the National Symposium for the American Institute of Floral Design. I felt like a kid in a candy store the entire week. The presenters were from around the world. Styles varied and materials used were equally diverse. More than anything, I learned that my profession is not one of sterile uniformity. It is truly an art. It is based upon elements of design, the artists' creative liberty, and a desire to bring color and happiness into the world.

Oh, and I also learned that florists are an eclectic and 'interesting' breed. . .enough said.
