Meeting Dreaming

Today I was sitting in a ridiculously long (and boring) meeting thinking about all the things waiting on my desk--wishing I was somewhere else. I thought it might be fun to be at the zoo, wearing my orange sweater, and snapping photos of giraffes. I thought it would be amazing to be curled up in my bed with a mug of cider and one of the 3 books I'm reading right now. I thought it could be lovely to be running up the canyon with my iPod and my new running jacket. A part of me imagined how amazing it would feel to sneak off to the movie theater for a matinee and a giant bowl of popcorn. A large part of me dreamed of a fall afternoon in Seattle for a ferry ride and a stroll through Pike Place. I suppose tedious meetings do serve some purpose--they provide some much needed dream time.
