West Yellowstone
One of my favorite things about going to Island Park is that it's perfectly acceptable and practically expected that we will be lazy. We lay around, eat, watch movies by the fire, attempt to put together jigsaw puzzles (who has time for that these days?), and then take short outings exploring the greatness that is Idaho. I'm not sure if it's the amount of moisture or if I've just been stuck in winter so long, but my drive on Wednesday from Utah through most of the Southeastern part of Idaho was amazing. Everything was so green and fresh. Oh, it was heavenly.
Anyway, one afternoon we drove to West Yellowstone to see the sites. I hate it when I try to kiss someone and they pretend like I'm not even there! It's not good for the old self-esteem, know what I mean?
Did I mention that it was pretty cold & snowy while I was there? As a result, we stopped for some semi-okay hot cocoa and looked out to see this giant crow-like bird atop our side mirror. It stayed for quite sometime & I was hoping Ryan would have to shoo it off, but the bird flew the coop before shooing was necessary.
Ryan and I were heartbroken that one of our favorite West Yellowstone stores was closed. I love buying that disappearing ink from this little dollar (a.k.a. junk) store.
Favorite stop of the day? Always the Old Fashioned Candy Shop. Dad certainly keeps them in business. . .like a kid in a candy store.
It was a great visit to Island Park & the best part was hanging out with these three jokers. Thanks for a fun time, family. I loved every minute of it!
