From Boise with Love
I'm re-energized!!! There's a good chance it could be sugar-related, but I think it could best be attributed to a 3-day visit with my parents and the Boise clan. It was seriously SOOO much fun. You know you're going to have a good time when you're greeted at the airport with balloons and a "WELCOME, Mickey" sign (thanks, Aubri). My Annette and her family are amazing hosts and when you combine their fun with Mike & Mary--the laughs are inevitable. So, these are 10 of my favorite things about our visit.
-Malachi. That's almost enough said, but the fact that he says my name "Mickey" is absolutely adorable. He is so much fun to be around. LOVE this little one.
-I tricked mom into doing about a bazillion projects for me this weekend. I'm really excited about the new pink heart garland she made for me. It is adorable & I can't wait to post a photo of it this week. You're going to LOVE it.
-Annette is (and always has been) one of my favorite Aunties. She is always full of energy and is willing to open her home in a way that makes you feel so comfortable and loved. I think that's an amazing talent. Combine that with her love of cooking and it's magical. Oh, how I'd like to do an internship in her kitchen. Whenever I'm around her, I probably drive her bonkers with all of my questions, but she just smiles and teaches me her tips and tricks. Maybe I'll retire and be her sous chef.
-Dad is our faithful (and fearless) driver. It always amazes me that he's willing to put up with all of our female craziness. We drag him to craft stores, through home decor show rooms, and everywhere in between. He's a good sport. As long as he has a bag of Jordan Almonds, he seem content to chauffeur us around town. LOVE you, dad. Thank you for taking such good care of us.
-James is my newest Facebook friend. He has an awesome new pair of boots & I got to watch a cool movie he made--good times.
-Annette did mistake my mouth for Malachi's by offering me a bite of his rice. It was mixed with her killer guacamole and if I had been a little bit quicker, that spoonful could have been mine. DANG!
-Kirsti and her mom provided lots of great shopping ideas and the pattern for a spa washcloth that is darling. Thanks, ladies.
-We had a chance to visit with Brittany and Wyatt. Oh, he is sweet. . .and so is Brit.
-I'm in love with short flights. SLC to Boise is fun. 50 minutes in the air, a small piece of luggage, and plenty of people watching. The airports weren't busy, I had a sweet spot on the plane (which just means I didn't have to sit by anyone smelly), AND fares are low. Llllllaaaaadeeedah.
-Sometimes a girl just needs to get away--regardless of how far.
