We Are BYU

What kind of a BYU fan would I be if I didn't show a little COUGAR pride?

Hey, Kenley. . . .

Do you remember when we went to the BYU vs. Utah football game? That was fun.

Easy Come. . .Easy Go

Once upon a time yesterday, 4 cougar fans set out to witness another win. They parked and walked. They rode the tall elevator with LaVell to box 110. They were SO happy. . .this happy! They settled into their super sweet seats and found the overpriced concessions to be mildly satisfying. Life was good.
Even the most discerning of fans seemed content.
And then something very, very bad happened. In fact, it happened again and again and again. The 4 Cougar fans were sad . . . very, very sad. Despite their sadness, they tried to look beyond the defeat. They had a great time--even when some of the greatness seemed to vanish in the high altitude air. Lesson learned. Don't count your BCS chances before they hatch.

The end.

Pillow Fight

Just now I was thinking about KWagnon & our freshman year at BYU. She hated it when people sat on her pillows. Butt sweat & Heaven only knows what else might infest your sweet-smelling pillows of bliss. Thanks, Krista, for instilling in my a distaste for bottoms on my own feather-filled puffs.

Presidential Guests

On occasion, Jeff and I prefer to watch the football games from the President's Loge (box to the common folk). On occasion, we get an invitation. On this occasion, we watched the BYU game with Pres. Oaks, Perry, and Scott--oh, and I think Senator Hatch might have to brushed against me at the popcorn table. On occasion, a home win with a good friend is a lot of fun.

Hoopin' It Up

Luke & I hit the basketball game last night. We had a great time. We had us some popcorn & the Cougs pulled off a victory against SUU. Luke is the perfect sports fan--into the game, but not crazy . . .okay, maybe a little bit crazy.

BYU Forum

Chief Justice, John Roberts, is speaking at today's forum. I'm not quite finished with my new book about the Supreme Court, but I did skip ahead a bit last night to read up on Chief Justice Roberts. He, undoubtedly, has the potential to be one of the most influential/powerful figures in our nation's history.

Build it & they will come.

Wednesday afternoon I had the opportunity to tour the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni & Visitor Center. The director of public relations was our guide and I was truly inspired. The building itself is gorgeous. . .simple, but the spirit of a modern day prophet is felt in every room, corridor, and landscape.

For a Sunday Morning

A bit of BYU inspiration.

Go Cougs!

BYU football. The cardboard cut-outs greeting every cougar fan at the each of the stadium entrances. Who is that hot "FULLY INVESTED" chica? She's Cosmo's new girlfriend.
Oh, look--it's chica's sister. Kimmy looks good in anything. . .even a plastic poncho. Speaking of Poncho--he was at the game, too.

The rain was fun, but at some point it started to effect my better judgment. . .like the moment I allowed Kimmy to take this picture.
Great game. BYU 31 Airforce 6. Life is good. No--life is great!

Looking Forward

Sometimes, when I'm not certain why I own such a high-tech and, well, bitchin' camera, I capture a shot like this.

I have a couple of crazy weeks coming up. Okay--so the rest of the year is completely filled up and I wonder how it gets this way. I suppose my job has something to do with it. Afterall, next week is BYU Homecoming. Perhaps a pending trip to our Nation's Capitol could steal a week. We have General Conference, a family wedding, Kimmy's big birthday, several stake activities, blah, blah, blah. The good news is that I'm excited to have so much to look forward to. I'm counting down the days to our Holiday Hawaiian Style (did I mention we're going back to Hawaii for Christmas?) I'm anticipating the goodness that is Thanksgiving in Blackfoot. The changing leaves make a canyon photoshoot necessary. A few more BYU football games--including a potential trip to San Diego to see the Cougs face the Aztecs (start praying for some wins). Afterall, isn't that what life is all about--making memories with those you love? Here's to lots of memories yet to be made in 2007.

For more information visit www.myspace.com/helpfindcamille. Please spread the word and Help Find Camille.

I've been thinking all day about the students I work with everyday. They're just like this girl--happy, smart, helpful, and full of possibility. What would I do if one was missing?
