Day 2

Day two of my experimental photography project was fun. I try to be somewhat inconspicuous when I'm photographing these random things--but at some point I don't really care what people think about me taking a picture of the cars in the parking lot--though I think Kimmy was nearly arrested for doing something similar in a D.C. lot a year or so ago.

My first shot is on the cusp of pornographic, but I hope you'll forgive me. I like to start my day with a shower. I guess it could be worse--I could have taken a picture pre-towel.Some everyday wears.
Heading into work, I'm always greeted by one of these--Customers at our counter--a sign of some success.
This kalanchoe has provided weeks of beauty. I love to walk past its brilliant color.
The view as I leave work. This is usually where I run into some trouble. After working in the same building for over 8 years--my parking position is easily confused from day to day. I'm often found wandering aimlessly around the lot around 5:30--wondering where in the hell I parked the Passat.
The good news is that so far I've found her every time!My monster purse. Maybe I'll show you what's inside tomorrow. . .
Home again, home again, jiggity jig.
How bout banana pancakes for dinner?Pretty dishes are so much more fun to wash.
Bringing fall to today makes everything feel, look, and smell better.
It's time to work on the primary program. I've stalled enough!

Good night, sweet day.

Today's Little Things

For some reason, my camera has remained in its case much too often lately. So, for the next few days, I'm going to make an effort to capture the little things in my life that aren't often captured (mostly because they're semi-boring).

So, a partial day in the life of yours truly. After some oatmeal and a hot shower, this little baby is always waiting for me first thing in the morning with that red flashing light telling (often warning) that there are messages awaiting my attention. Today the Passat and I made a quick trip to our floral wholesaler. I picked out some beautiful things. A beautiful fall morning. Ooooh, it's lovely!

At some point in my day, I make it home for some lunch. I've been trying to use my lunch wisely. I usually try to do a load of laundry, wash dishes, run errands, or complete a short project. Today I packed up a box of things for Kimmy's shower in a few weeks.
And clipped some coupons. Have I mentioned my recent fascination with coupon clipping! I suddenly adore the Sunday paper.

Back to work. Lest you all think I spend my time dancing in blossoms and singing James Taylor songs--you should know that I spend a considerable amount of time in front of a computer--entering orders, responding to e-mails, and on the telephone. . .and from the looks of things--hydrating my lips. The view from my desk.

And just as suddenly as the day began, it ends. Heading home with a little Jack Johnson in the CD player and a call to Laura Bear--
