Halloween Haunting
As part of our wedding weekend, the Virtues celebrated Halloween. This year, Ryan sported his old Chicago Bears helmet. . .at least he attempted to. It would appear that his head has grown a bit since its original appearance on the Halloween scene. In keeping with my typical holiday fashion, I sported a French Maid's uniform. . .scandalous (if I hadn't been wearing jeans & a sweater with it).
Malachi (one of our favorite little people) was the cutest alligator you've ever seen.
The boys did some trick-or-treating & seemed pleased with the evening's activities--though all that candy can really do a lot of damage to your teeth!

These two characters--KOOKIE & COOKIE are really something!
We dd some pillaging for candy at grandma & grandpa's place. They seemed happy to see us-though I'm quite certain grandma won't be very pleased if she finds out that I posted a picture of here with perm rods in her hair. LOVE you, grandma--besides, the two red-heads at your sides are in much worse shape than yourself! I wonder if city officials are aware of the masked red-head. If not, someone should warn them.
Happy Halloween--post mortem.

The Incredible Hulk Meets Cookie Monster
I think it's funny how life changes--how we grow and become with each change. We have 4 changes ranging in ages from 3-9 joining our family next week. Each is full of life, potential, mischief, and genuine goodness. Laura and I hosted a little Halloween party with "The BOYS" last night. We're embracing change & have a sincere desire to be the best aunties we can be. All of the best aunts make homemade sugar cookies & allow their young folk to take care of the decorations.
Tomy is especially artistic.
Sterling is all about quantity. Yes, go ahead and count the number of M&Ms covering that little pumpkin sugar cookie.
Everybody works as a team. Mmmmm, those cookies look tasty.
Spiderman LOVES cookies. I wonder if he's distantly related to Cookie Monster?
Here I am with all of my new superhero friends. Notice that not even the Incredible Hulk can mess with the Magnificent Michelle.
Please note that the superhero sister, who goes by the name of Laura. took this photo. She is full of lots of super powers.
So--here's to change, sugar cookies, and bringing those you care about most into your heart.

A Halloween Hangover
I'm tired & oh, so thankful tomorrow is Friday. I swear I had a Halloween hangover today. It was like the excitement of the holiday was just too much. Between the flower costumes--which, by the way, weren't all that comfy, the special little costume clad visitors, and a bang-up birthday party for Josh, I had just about all the Halloween fun one person could stand. And so--I'm going to bed. I'm sinking into my 600 thread count sheets, curling into the fetal position, and sleeping my holiday hangover right off. Afterall, I've got a raucous weekend to look forward to.

Happy Halloween
Halloween. This picture was taken pre-hoochie Halloween era. Notice that my legs are completely covered. So here I am stuffing my little princess face while Kimmy exposes herself. I wonder if grandma still has those bitchin' tube socks? Oh, wait, I forgot that I quit swearing. Anyway--HAPPY HALLOWEEN to all. I hope this year's favorite pegan holiday treats you well.
Calli--please note the fireplace in the picture. . .LOVE IT.

O, Halloween Tree. . .how dead are thy branches.
This morning I ran outside. It felt great once I got going. Cold, but great. I love to run in the beautiful neighborhoods near my house. There are lots of new homes going up and I often find myself coveting their wonderfulness. As I was turning the corner toward the final stretch of my run, I approached one of the nicest homes in the development and was aghast at what I saw. Not a half-naked man picking up the newspaper. . .not a ferocious dog. . not even a freshly hunted deer hanging in the yard. It was WORSE! They had a brightly lit ORANGE Halloween Tree in their front window. HELLO--Pegan WHITE TRASH. I love Fall and Halloween as much as the next girl, but come on. . .this is ridiculous.
