Too Many Datelines--I Think NOT

Kenley and I always watched Datelines or 48 Hours Mysteries together. JCL is a fan, too. This post is for the two of them. Oh, and don't be surprised to see yours truly interviewed by Maureen Maher very soon.

Last week when I drove to SLC to tape my Studio 5 segment, I was at a stop light and kept hearing this weird noise. It was coming from the car next to me. I rolled down my windows, turned off my radio and heard a strange thumping coming from the trunk of the circa 1990 Buick. Seriously! There was a person in that trunk. I know it. FREAKY. And, NO, it wasn't just an over-active thumping bass. Don't you worry, I reported the captive to the proper authorities. That, in combination with the apprehension of a campus thief a few months ago, has me convinced that the hours I've spent studying the criminal mind via nighttime television are finally starting to pay off.

Keep watching, boys. It only takes one person with keen senses and a sharp mind to save a life.

Sidenote--I refuse to watch "TO catch a Predator." I don't want to catch predators, thank you very much.

R&R via my DVR

I've really been trying to use my time wisely the last few months--getting things done in advance, completing projects, and trying new things. BUT, sometimes a girl just needs a bit of television goodness to offer some relaxation. So, here are a few of the shows recording on my DVR:

1. Project Runway (remember we have a hometown boy to cheer for--LOGAN)
2. Grey's Anatomy (McDreamy is much too cute to stop watching)
3. Biggest Loser (Praise the HEAVENS that Tracy was voted off)
4. Glee (Because it's ridiculous)
5. Brothers & Sisters (2 words--Rob LOWE)

Lost in Blackfoot for the Weekend

A special thank you to everyone who has supported me in my recent addiction. My heart goes out to Mother & Father--whose wonderful Conference Weekend was mixed with 3 discs equaling 12 episodes x 43 minutes = joyous hours of family togetherness. Good parents support their children through all of life's ups and downs. My parents are the perfect examples of such unconditional love!

What the???

I think I've been sucked into the vortex that is LOST. It only took 2 episodes on YouTube & a little bit of subtle encouragement from Emily & Paul . . . and now I'm dying to know what happens to Jack. Would it be so wrong to DVR conference and watch Lost episodes all weekend? Wait--don't answer that.

A Fun Factory Friday

There's something a little bit unsettling about admitting to the entire state of Utah that you're goal in life is to try every flavor of cheesecake on the Cheesecake Factory menu. For a glimpse of my admission click HERE. If you're watching closely, you might also recognize a few other familiar faces.

Check these three babies off the list for today!

Studio 5 and the Leg Warmer Ladies

Sometimes it's hard to be me. First of all, I'm really fun. Secondly, I get myself into some crazy situations and wonder how and why I let it happen.

A friend told me a few weeks ago that I was selfish. It hurt my feelings a little. The presumption was that I did too many things and that my willingness and desire to "do" took opportunities from others. Is that true? Am I a complete opportunity sucker? Maybe. The thing is that I can't say no. I want to make the most of my time. I want to make a difference. I don't ever want to regret not doing something meaningful. That's just who I am. That's how I work. That's how I shop. That's how I cope. That's how I survive. That's how I live.

So, I do things like go on TV. I live on the edge by going on TV without a haircut or color. I go on TV with little notice. I go on TV without a new outfit. I go on TV and have to wing it. . .just like my good friend Kelly Rippa. My Studio 5 premiere was okay. . .not particularly wonderful, but not particularly embarrassing either. . .though I was proceeded by a woman wearing a faux fur vest expounding on fashion and followed by some darling kids wearing "LEG"warmers on their ARMS. Oh, the joys of television.

The good news is that it's over. The bad news is that on my way home there was an old man driving a Berreta down I-15 while he read a book. What a freakin' IDIOT. It's Friday at 4 am and I'm awake. I wish I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend of sudoku and a cup of Pero. To dream. Oh, well. Craziness is part of my montra, remember? What would I do without a long list of things to "get after?"

A relaxing weekend with a book and a cup of Pero. 12 of 30.
