Remember when I was a blonde???


I have this quote hanging by my desk at work. Love it.

A Bit of Wisdom

So I've officially switched from the BYU singles ward to the family ward. I thought it might be a tough adjustment, but do you know what? I LOVE IT! Sweet freedom! Don't get me wrong, I've totally loved my BYU singles experience, but I was ready to move on. This new ward is so organized. The lessons have been amazing and I'm learning that there are people, lives, and experiences I have yet to meet, touch, and learn from.

The instructor in RS today shared this quote & I thought it was wonderful (though I don't remember who said it).

"The Lord doesn't ask about our inabilities or abilities; He only asks about our availabilities. If we show our dependability, He will help us in our capability."

AMEN! Let us all make ourselves a little bit more available. Let us show our dependence & faith in Him. I need His help in my capability, how bout you?

Treasuring the Doing


Anna Quindlen : ...but the biggest mistake I made is the one that most of us make while doing this. I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of the three on them sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages 6, 4, and 1. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in a hurry to get on to the next things: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less.

This is definitely something I need to work on. . .treasuring the doing.

We Are Powerful Beyond Measure

Maybe I should give up my ridiculous 2007 aspirations and focus on just shining as I am.
