Blah, Blah, Black Friday

It's 7am and I'm sitting in my cozy bed with my hot apple cider. Shopping is so much more pleasant from this venue than the -10 degree Idaho air. Trust. Me. Pajamas, laptop, and credit card--that's all I need to kick off the holiday shopping. If you're wondering what I'm buying on this lovely BLACK Friday morn, I really can't say too much, but I will tell you that I'm getting free shipping and a few holiday treats for myself.

If you're looking for the perfect gift this year, might I make a suggestion? My cute friend (at least I like to hope we're friends), Lady Mindy Gledhill, is the brilliance behind my favorite album of 2010--ANCHOR. Seriously, I know I've said it before and I'll say it again--I LOVE this CD. Visit her website HERE to purchase a copy for all those you love. She even has them available at a great price $6.63 each if you buy a case of 30 OR you can get both Anchor and Feather in the Wind for the bargain price of just $19.98. Oh, and rumor is that she's personally hand wrapping them all. LOVE that about her.

Sliding Between the Gold Filigree Leaves . . . a DREAM

I know exactly what you're thinking. You're thinking that since I enjoy a bowl of Cupcake Pebbles on occasion that my pallet must be naive and unrefined. There's a chance that you could be right. The fact of the matter is that the level of my refinement is as varied as my hair colors of 2010.

For example. I love shopping thrift and discount stores, but my heart belongs to Nordy (Nordstrom) and a sweet little place I like to call Anthropologie. Oh, Anthropologie, how you tempt me. Indeed you tempt me almost daily with your sweet little product e-mails and beautiful catalogs. TODAY you crossed a line. This filigree leaf sheet set has pushed me over the edge. I'm trying not to lust after you. I'm trying not to spend $148 on a set of 300 thread count sheets. I'm trying to use will power and good judgment. You're making it VERY difficult. In fact, I'm considering giving up Cupcake Pebbles and selling my bed just to afford your luxury. If you would be so kind as to go on sale, that would be lovely.

So, here I sit on a Saturday afternoon swooning over sheets and eating a bowl of cereal. Intense, huh?

Dish Delight

If you all promise not to tell Kimmy or Eric, I'll tell you a little secret. Promise?

Okay--Laura Bear & I ordered these dishes from our friends at Pottery Barn. Oh, they are so beautiful. We thought it might be good to have something to look forward to when we get back from Holiday. We are brilliant.

Brilliant Ideas & Inspiration

Please note that this photo was taken last week BEFORE the flat iron reappeared in my life. Sometimes I have brilliant ideas and an actual light bulb appears above my head (see photo above). My brilliant idea for today--a business trip to IkEA. Tasha and I spent the morning looking for design inspiration. Three hours and $800 dollars later. . .we left brimming with inspiration and complete joy.

IKEA

I am complete. IKEA opened in Draper today and once the masses have departed, I will take my own private tour of the European-based sanctuary.

CB2

I'm in love. . .with a chair. Oh, my goodness. I can't even imagine how wonderful I'd feel nestled into this leather piece of heaven. Let's see. . .if I sold my first born child and maybe my dish collection on Ebay, I'd probably be able to justify splurging on such a luxury. Huh, I suppose just another incentive to marry and have babies. This might be the best motivation yet! Crate & Barrel, you've done it again--magic.

Crate & Barrel has a new line called CB2. . .very cool.
