Souvenirs

I've been trying to decide what to do with my photos from D.C. Of course, I thought about making another destination altered book, but wanted to do something a little bit different. After a few weeks of searching, thinking, and praying (kidding), I decided to make my first digital book. I still have quite a bit to do, but I'm making all of my pages in Photoshop and then having them printed in 8x8 format. This was my test page and the print turned out beautifully.

I never buy souvenirs. In fact, I hate them. Instead, I used all my my souvenir money (for the next 10 years) to buy XT. I just take lots and lots of pictures so I can create my own photographic souvenirs. You will have have to stop by to view my newest additions.

Back Bloggin' Better Than Ever

This photo is for my newfound friend, Christine (from Idaho). I realized this weekend that this silly blog connects me to some wonderful people. . .even to some I don't know I'm connected to. I wonder if people who don't know me and read think I'm crazy?. . .maybe I am. Maybe that's part of the fun--having people get to know you from your own one-sided conversation with yourself. It's pretty cool and sometimes it makes me feel like a celebrity. . .and you know how much I love that!Some of you faithful WFB viewers have probably noticed my recent blogging dry spell. Some call it blogging burnout. I prefer to refer to it as a bad case of blogger block. It's less serious than burnout, but more deadly than being on a blogging break. The fact of the matter is that I was starting to feel like my entries were redundant and boring. I was losing some of my creative steam and it showed. It's really the first time in a year and a half where I haven't had a great desire to record, share, or be ridiculous. The good news is that I've taken the last few days off and feel completely refreshed and ready to strut my ever-bloggin' stuff. I now realize that a great deal of my hesitancy in posting has to do with my photography neglect. XT has spent much too much time in her bag. Don't get me wrong, SD is a darling little thing. . .convenient, too, but she can't compete with the XTravaganza. XT has been on a brief vacation because her battery charger is somewhere between Honolulu and Salt Lake. The good news is that today I went to pick up some photos and there under the gleaming glass counter was the exact replica of the missing charger. I just gazed into the eyes of the photo assistant and quickly asked him to remove the little gem so I might fondle it. That thing could have cost a fortune and I wouldn't have blinked. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that with the return of XT, a little time for personal introspection, and a lot of great things in life. . .I'm back and bloggin' better than ever.

So photos I took. Maybe winter isn't so bad afterall. I have a feeling it will be bad again tomorrow morning when the roads are yucky. But for now, we're friends. It's snowy.

Max & Michelle Meet

I met Max today. He is perfectly wonderful. He has the cutest little chin you've ever seen and he really likes his Auntie Michelley. Thanks, Ry & Calli for letting me visit.

Condolences

Deepest sympathy to the Cub Bear Family. XT's sister camera was stolen in a heinous manner while Cub Momma & Papa were gathering food for their young. The good news is that the Hawaii mishap didn't destroy their island spirit. . . not hibernation time for these two beach bears. Happy returns to you and yours. We will miss Cub XT, but will be excited for an XTi order soon.
