Lady LuVera

So a few years ago, Laura got me a new brother-in-law. The best part of the gift was that he came with a LuVera bonus. Happy Birthday wishes to Eric's mom and my friend, LuVera--who makes being the mother of 4 boys look easy (even though we ALL know it's no day at the beach)!

Please note that I stole this picture of LuVera & Sarah from Alicia's blog. Sarah and Alicia were two other bonus Vawdrey gifts!!!

Granola Girl

For almost 3 years now, I've heard brother-in-law brag about his mom's famous granola. I decided, for no apparent reason, that it was time to test it for myself. So, I purchased all manner of wheat germ, oats, and flakes. I mixed and baked. I toiled & soiled (my apron that is ). I am now a convert. A granola convert. A brother-in-law convert. A Vawdrey Granola rocks my every crunchy cereal world convert.

LuVera’s Granola

8 C. Oatmeal
6 C. Wheaties
2-3 Cups Coconut (Eric says she doesn't use the coconut)
2 C. Wheat Germ
2 Tsp. Salt
2 C. Brown Sugar
1 C. Oil
1 C. Water
2 Tsp. Vanilla

Mix all together Bake 225 Degrees for 2 hrs. Placed on 4 cookie sheets.

Another Vawdrey Boy

A special congratulations to Dave & Alicia on the arrival of Zachary. There's nothing like new baby smell. Oh, he's so sweet & so lucky to have Sister Sarah. Best wishes to you all--from your Virtue Family friends in the west.

The Vawdrey Adventure

Let me preface this post by saying this--Vawdrey men are undoubtedly brilliant. Brilliant in the sense that they marry amazing women. Of course Laura is quite wonderful--as I helped train her myself, but there are others. . .including Alicia (wife of Vawdrey #3 and mother to Sarah Bear). I just discovered Alicia's blog. She and Dave recently moved to New York City with Sarah (who is darling, precocious, and funny) and the yet unborn baby boy Vawdrey. It's quite an exciting prospect--one I have wondered about and been intrigued by the past few months. They packed up their belongings and moved across the country with a toddler and a baby on the way. After just a few weeks, Alicia broke her arm. You know that song "one-eyed, one-eared, one Purple People Eater?" It keeps running through my head--only I like to replace it with "one-eyed, one armed, one Purple People Eater." Let's face it--I need to get out more. Anyway, I'm always asking Laura how things are going with the NY Vawdreys. I suppose I can now quit pumping her for information, as I just found Alicia's blog. Blessed day!

A big Utah shout out to the NY Vawdrey faction. We're excited to hear about all of your Manhattan adventures.

Dave's Big Day

In the spirit of good will, I'm looking past the frightening U apparel to wish David Vawdrey a happy birthday. Dave is one of those people you immediately like. He's completely ridiculous, but personable and oh, so funny. To top it off, he's Sarah Bear's dad and that is enough to shoot anyone to the top of the Virtue approval charts.

Alicia. . .what size is Sarah wearing these days? We really need to get her some new BLUE apparel. . .poor kid is being led astray by her wayward father. It's time to take action. Besides, I'm quite confident everyone will wish they were wearing blue after next week's game.

Hope you had a great day, Dave.

Thanks for the picture, Alicia!
