Harvest Fest 2005

Happy Harvest Fest friends and neighbors! I'm not sure how many of you have actually heard of Harvest Fest. It's simply a celebration of the harvest and this season of gratitude. It's also a brilliant excuse for a few "crazy" women to get together, eat, and craft. This is actually my first year co-hosting the event and certainly not my last. Calli and I have been talking about and planning for it since the first hint of fall appeared. Have I mentioned that I adore her? . . She's a kindred spirit--talented, beautiful, enthusiastic, and down-right fun. Anyway, we gathered our lists of dear friends who would truly appreciate the foof of Harvest Fest--really, the elite of the elite. Each was invited to bring their favorite fall dish and join us Saturday afternoon for the celebration. Everything was beautiful.
We crafted! Everyone made a recipe book to store their newfound cullinary treasures. They turned out so cute. Watch out, Martha! We have some craft divas in the house.

Calli and I wonder why we don't do this every Saturday. Oh, yeah, the Loveless Brothers would probably disown us as we would certainly disrupt their precious football schedule (which I can assure you is as carefully laid out as our Harvest Fest). A special thanks to "the boys" for letting us invade, make a mess, and interrupt the BYU game with our endless chatter. You guys are the best! Can I just say Calli's pumpkin roll was divine?
The Farrar Sisters. . .always a party favorite and certainly two people who can truly appreciate the wonderfulness of the Harvest Fest. They brought the cutest cheese ball in the form of an apple that I've ever seen. These girls know how to fest.
A special thank you to all our dear friends who joined us for the party. Last night at Stake Conf., one of the speakers said that your marriage doesn't have to be your only eternal friendship. AMEN! There are few things in my life that bring me as much joy as dear friends who constantly enrich my life. They bring me laughter, creativity, solace, and focus. At this season of the harvest, I'm especially grateful for all of my forever friends.

I am very disappointed that I was not involved in the planning or festivities of harvestfest. I did not even hear mention of a harvestfest t-shirt... C'mon!!!
