Mike for Mayor Results
I realized this morning that you're all probably dying to know the results of last week's Blackfoot Mayoral Election. Life has been so crazy that I haven't had time to post the no-so-final outcome of the election. We were more excited/nervous last Tuesday than we expected--everyone, that is except dad. He was as calm as a summer's day. I must have called mom 15 times that night to see if results were in. Finally, around 11pm (well past her bedtime) she called and said dad had received the most votes--36.05%. Unfortunately, he needed to get 50% to "win" the seat. So, we face a runoff with the current mayor on December 6th. Mayor Reese received 27.85% of the votes. In discussing the results with dad on Wednesday, he sounded really upbeat and excited that he had done so well. It's a little disheartening that it will be another month of campaigning, but that's what democracy is about, right? So, for all of you registered Blackfoot City voters out there--stand up and be counted! Sponsored by the daughter to elect Virtue for Mayor 2005.
