Rise and Shout the Cougars are OUT

The 2005 Season Super Fans! Thanks for a great season. . .hope you recover from your disappointments before next season. It just wouldn't be the same without you.
To my loyal cougar fan friends everywhere. . .I feel your pain! Saturday I woke up extra early to drive back to Provo from Idaho for the "big game." No small sacrifice for someone who is somewhat sleep deprived these days. I have to admit that I experienced the same butterflies in my stomach that haunt me everytime BYU faces their arch rivals and Saturday was no exception. Even before the game really started, you could feel the tension in the air. Everyone was intense, uptight, and stressed out. Calli and I were afraid that one of the Loveless brothers might get into a brawl with our game-day neighbors. . .as we were all on edge (and we were sitting by some real stinkers). The first half of the game was absolutely miserable. In fact, I could feel every cell in my body start to shut-down and would have preferred a root canal to the bad calls and even worse plays. No one was happy and no one on our entire row was saying a word (at least any I dare repeat). Despite a come from behind second half, our Cougars couldn't pull a win out in overtime. 4-years running. . .losers to the UTES. Let me just add this happy note to my pathetic commentary. . .I still love a losing Cougar more than a winning Ute. Cougar fans--hold your heads high and face next season with all the hope and optimism you can muster. . .we might need it.
