A Very Island Park Thanksgiving

Couldn't resist showing off some pictures from our Island Park Thanksgiving Adventures. Dad decided that after the stress of the wedding and craziness of the election the Virtues needed a little respite from the duldroms of everday life. So--we met in Island Park for a Very Virtue Thanksgiving. Thursday afternoon (when our turkey had settled) we drove over to Big Springs. It was, as Ryan called it, "Cat-Butt Cold," but really beautiful. Please note that nature lovers--Kimmy & Mickey are hand-feeding the birds. We really are at one with the forest animals. Isn't there a scene in Mary Poppins where she feeds the birds in Trafalga Square?. . .well, here you have it--real life Mary Poppins.
Look deep into my eyes and you'll see the terror that is consuming my entire being. I don't really care for birds. . .actually, they terrify me. Ever since I watched that Alfred Hitchcock movie the little flappers really creep me out.
Kimmy is so proud. I bet she could work in an bird store.
Ryan loves his smashed potatoes. The genius just discovered that the hand-mixer does wonders for working those lumps out of the delectable side-dishes.
Turkey $14.79. Mashed Potatoes (none of that dehydrated crap) $3.00, Apple Pie $6.99. Thanksgiving in Island Park. . .PRICELESS.
