Anyone seen March of the Penguins? I could use some feedback. The thing is that my mom bought the DVD for my brother. . .but he wasn't too keen about it. Yep--he had the Kimberly wanna return it look on his face.

What is the big deal with this movie? Since when does America like documentaries? I've seen it, mostly it just made me cold. I'll never watch it again. This is definitely not a Ryan movie.

Thank you for your raw review. Penguin documentary, huh? Well, maybe Ryan can exchange it for something a little bit warmer.

Despite my pledge to not post anymore comments on this blog - I must add my thoughts on one of the better films of the year. And, some Americans (the smart ones) like documentaries - Mad Hot Ball Room, Murderball, and New York Doll were some of the best movies I saw this year.

March of the Peguins is a keeper. I saw it in the theater back in the summer and it is fascinating. I also got it for Christmas. As you are watching it you forget you are not watching human interactions - but birds going through their daily routines. You sympathize with their struggles and are excited when good things happen - like when the baby penguins are born. 2 thumbs up! Plus I was in awe of how the movie was made, despite the harsh elements the filmamkers were working in.

Now wait a minute you people. I agree with JACOB - this was a great movie - I saw it Monday and from a mother's point of view it was great. The dad's had to carry that egg around between their feet - that was just great. I think it was a reversal in roles - she even had to go get food while the males carried the egg and starved to death. TWO THUMBS UP. It is a must see for all AMERICANS even if it was put on by the French.

Huh. Lula and Jacob on the same team. That's an interesting concept. . .maybe for the nation's next great documentary. It's sure to have lots of drama, action, and perhaps even some violence.
