Runaway Bride?

It's wedding season here in Provo. It always comes with the end of a semester and Friday was the last day of finals. . .so everyone wants to take advantage of the long vacation by tying the knot. As a result, business is booming at my CCF. We had four weddings this weekend . . .no problem! Actually, I shouldn't say that because there was a problem--a big one. Wedding number two was scheduled for pick up Friday afternoon at 5pm. At around 11am I received a call from the mother of the bride. This is ALWAYS frightening. It can mean one of three things. Perhaps she wants to add 15 corsages to their order because their relatives from Denmark were able to make the pilgrimage to the U.S. for the nuptuals. It could also mean the bride had a sudden change of heart and wants to alter the color palette of the wedding from reds to purples (a florist's worst nightmare). In this case, the bride's mother was calling to inform me that the wedding had been cancelled. Of course, I offered my sympathy and best wishes for the "unhappy" couple? and felt completely horrible when I was unable to offer any monetary compensation (because the flowers were all ready for pick-up). It's not my fault they called it off THE DAY OF & ordered their flowers from the most professional and on-top-of-it floral shop in the world. So, I've had a couple of days to think about this bride and her decision to marry a young man. . .forever. In doing so, I've also thought of the more difficult decision to call it off after months of planning, color selection, invitation printing, $ etc. My final verdict? Good (or better) for them. At least they had the guts to prevent a life of unhappiness. . .though the flowers were really quite beautiful.

She's a smart gal! Marriage is a foolish thing to do. Jokes...it's actually great and she's missing out on some fun and scandalous things! PANSY!
