There's No Place Like Home

I took the day off. Blessed, blessed day! You're asking yourself--What would Michelle choose to do with her day away from the demands of the shop? I was finally able to deck my halls. This is the girl that usually puts her Christmas decorations up the day after Halloween. . .I'm behind! Despite the fact that I had to slide them down the snow covered hill from the storage unit, nearly had frostbite on my hands this morning hanging the cedar garland, and now have pine needles down my bra--I still loved every minute of it. In fact, one of my friends called while I was putting the trees up and complaining about a stupid strand of half-hearted lights that weren't cooperating and he gently reminded me that I was lucky half of them worked. There are people in the world without homes, food, and family. How dare I complain about a silly strand of lights? I really am blessed. PERSPECTIVE! Anyway, you should see my living room (I guess you can). I completely changed everything around and, to be honest--it looks "wow" super-fab. In fact, as a special prize for completing all of my days tasks--I bought the cutest lamp for myself. It has a tweed shade and I'm absolutely in love with it. So, for those of you who haven't been to visit in a while. . .come over for some Christmas music, pine scented air, and I'll even pour you a glass of egg nog (or for those of you with a more refined palette--there's always FRESCA in our refrigerator).

The trees look great - thanking you for posting the picture. I know you did it just for me.
PS - that couch looks really comfortable. And, Joseph lost my camera, so it looks as if I won't be sharing any festive pictures of my living room anytime soon.
That used to be my place of residence...ahhh the memories, now I just have OLD COLD WALLS! Much like Veronica. How CUTE is your little nook? You are such a Christmas DIVA! DANGGGG!
you know what i love about the apartment... that it didn't always look that way. being a recent home owner - it is quite discouraging to walk in and see the hodge podge of furniture that people have so graciously donated to the cause. don't get me wrong i am quite grateful. but i remember when your cute little place wasn't so stylish - and that gives me hope! little by little, right? your place is divine, how I wish I could come over for some nog and FRESCA.
PS... hope ownership brought a lovely surprise this morn - frozen pipes, guess who didn't shower!
that anonymous was by me...melissa guess it didn't like my name
I have to say that my dear sister has outdone herself this holiday season. There are many occasions when I walk in and say wow, but after the holiday remodel this year, I said "Mickey,(aka Michelle) you are my holiday decorator for life!" I kicked my feet up to a big glass of egg nog (without the rum. I know what some of you were thinking.)It was delightful! Happy Holidays!!!
