Vanilla Velamints
Today marks the 1 year anniversary of my last tin of Vanilla Velamints. Last Christmas season, my dear friend, Eileen Johnson, game me a tin of Vanilla Velamints. I adored them. Minty (but not too minty), sweet (but not too sweet). . .they were just right. So, for someone who always has a tin of refreshment in her purse (tic-tacs, altoids, etc.), the Velamint discovery nearly changed my life. Unfortunately, that was the first and last tin of Vanillamints. I CAN'T FIND THEM ANYWHERE. Trust me, I have scoped out every candy counter from here to London this year looking for them. I did find a close replacement at Target, but a few months ago I noticed those were all on sale. The cashier explained that they were no longer going to be selling them. WHAT? I bought every stinkin' tin they had. . .even those are running in short supply. The really terrible thing about this tragedy is that it has made me selfish. When people ask if I have a mint, I honestly have to think about whether I'm going to offer them a piece of my precious supply. In fact, I only offer to those few friends that I think deserve and will relish the tiny morsels. So--I'm sending everyone on a Velamint (vanilla or chocolate) treasure hunt. Whomever finds them first. . .a special Virtue surprise! In fact, if you find them at a convenience store in--let's say Nevada, Oklahoma, Washington, Idaho. . .I don't really care--buy all they have. I'll write you a check immediately. Happy Velamint Hunting!
