Finding Joy in the Destination

Ever feel like you're headed in the wrong direction--like you're looking for something that doesn't exist? Sometimes I get so caught up in the process of reaching what I hope is my ultimate destination--only to figure out that it's not exactly what I had built it up to be in my imagination. Don't get me wrong. I understand the importance of the journey. In fact, I have found a great deal of joy in my journey, but sometimes it feels like I waste a lot of time headed toward something that is ultimately painful and disappointing. Why can't I find joy in a journey that leads me to more joy? Does that seem like too much to ask?
