Where Do Balloons GO?
Yesterday was my official storytelling debut. The Children's Book Department of the Bookstore sponsors a storytime every Saturday morning at 11am and they asked me to tell some balloon stories and then make balloon figures for the children in attendance. I told two of my favorite stories--Where do Balloons Go? by Jamie Lee Curtis (yep--the actress) and Harvey Potter's Balloon Farm by Jerdine Nolan. Oh, what fun we had! The kids were absolutely darling and really seemed to love the stories. . .though I think they enjoyed the balloons more than my storytelling.
Philip was my favorite listener in attendance. He was so quiet and listened attentively. What a cutie he is. Everytime Rachel brings him to the store, we send him home with a balloon. It calmed my nerves to have his cheery little face smiling up at me. Thanks for coming, Philip!
Diane and Jenny were my faithful balloon blowers. I decided that they should be compensated accordingly. Jenny loved her "love bug" and I think Diane looks especially smashing in her new hat. You girls are the best!

Doesn't MIckey remind you of Meg Ryan in You've Got mail in this most recent post? I love that movie!
All I need is a cone-shaped hat and a haircut. Remember how You've Got Mail is one of my all-time favorites? Remember how I watched the VHS so often that it died and Jeff bought me a new one for my birthday? Remember how campus today smells faintly of newly sharpened pencils? I love fall.
