Bad News

The good news is that I haven't been sick since last November right before/during Laura's wedding. The bad news is that I have a terrible sore throat. You know--the kind of sore throat that makes you want rip it out of your body. The kind of sore throat that will only accept ice-chilled Fresca and popsicles. The kind of sore through that ominously foretells of things to come. . .daunting! Doesn't my body know that it's Homecoming week. . .that I don't have time to be sick? Doesn't it understand that this is one of the busiest weeks of the year? Well, I will not be defeated. I will not let mucous get me. I am just going to go on with my life and pretend like I feel fine. I'm going running in the morning and then facing work, classes, all of my romantic stresses, not to mention the list of "tasks" I have set for myself this week. Yep--denial works for me in other areas of my life--why not give it a shot in this venue? I am going to be productive. I am going to be happy. I am going to feel zippy.

NO NO NO--It's mind over matter. I know that you do not have time to be sick--however, if it starts getting the best of you, let me know and I will be over with chicken soup, fresca, and some Pace bars. Hang in there!
