The Perfect Weekend

Great weekend. You know the kind I'm talking about. . .no time for work--just play.

I went to a benefit concert on Friday night commemorating World's AIDS Day. It was a beautiful concert in the Provo Tabernacle for an even more beautiful cause. Amongst the hustle and bustle of the season it's easy to forget that there are people in the world who suffer. There are people who don't have homes, families, food, or health. I'm worried about what wrapping paper theme to use for my gifts and children are fighting for food in the streets. Does anyone else see something wrong with that?

I was quickly reminded that my job provides me with opportunities to serve in different ways. Saturday morning was the Annual President's Christmas Party. Each year we create nearly 1,000 Christmas craft kits to make with the children invited to the party. It's a wonderful event. . .one we look forward to every year. The kids are so excited. Heavens--I'm so excited for them to make their sparkly snowflake headbands or the candy cane bracelets that I can hardly contain myself. It's like we all get to be kids for the day. . .doughnuts, writing letters to Santa, and crafting.

Once we wrapped up the President's Christmas Party (PCP for those who work in CCF circles), I was off to the Springville Arts Center for a special art exhibit. Grant was selected to have his artwork displayed in the museum with an awards presentation yesterday afternoon. It was so sweet to see the kids receive their certificates, awards, and juicy fruit. I love this season.

A Christmas Party at a friend's home finished off the night. Great party. Great weekend.

Who is the third girl from the right with the curly hair next to you? Is she married/single? Is she dating anyone? She looks pretty cute?

I'm speaking about the 4th slide of course.

Glad to see that all those hours spent on putting PCP kits together at the beginning of the year finally came to fruition with magnificent results! It's also good to see those familiar smiling CC&F faces! Say hi to the girls for me! Thanks, Michelle-- Happy December!

Megan & Alicia--you were both missed at the annual PCP. . .but you were well represented by some glitter wands and candycane bracelets. Give Carter a hug for us.

Hey, Anonymous. I have a sneaking suspicion that you're third in a series of men living slightly to our north. If that's the case, we can talk about the identity and status of "cute girl" in private. . .don't want to give out too much information to the masses. It might create unnecessary competition.
