Mickey the Book Worm

One of the things I love about being on a beachy vacation of goodness is reading. It seems like I never have enough time to sit and just enjoy a book. So, I sacrificed packing cute clothes and moisturizer so I could lug around 5 or 6 books. And you know what? I read most of them and even some donated by mother & sister 3. So, here are my brief comments about the following books recently devoured on the sands of Hawaii.

Remember this post? Well, this is Nancy's book & I adored it. Read it. You will love it, too.Every trip to sun should include a sappy N. Sparks book. This is his newest. Quick read. Ridiculous. Enjoyable, but not going to change your life. Who cares?
Please don't judge me. I read a Nora Roberts book. I won't tell you who actually purchased the book and lent it, but I will say she is married to Eric. This book is simply ridiculous, has a touch of sensuality, and I pray to the heavens that no one uses it against me later in life. The truth is that I liked it. . . . so sue me!
It took me a bit to really get into this book, but I ended up enjoying it. It's a lovely read--full of adventure, heartache, and a woman who refused to give up even when life was hard. I like women like that--they inspire.
LOVED this book. It was charming and delightful. I'd highly recommend it. So, if I'm rating on a scale of 1-10 for literary content, I give Nora and her wedding silliness a 2 and the Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society (the longest title in the world) a 9.
Each of these books is available for check-out from the Michelle library--though I think Nora is in again in the possession of Eric's wife.

Take a day, sit by your local pool and pull out a book you've been dying to read. You deserve it!

I read "These is my Words" and "The Guernsey....." and liked them both. Fun reads. Are you maybe going to come visit when the parents come at the end of June????

Thanks for the ideas--I'm waiting for "The Glass Castle" to get returned to our library so I can start it. You've given me some good "what to read next"-s.

With all these books, why are you not going to book club?

We read "These is My Words" a few months ago (took me a while to get into, also) and the ladies are all raving about that "Potato Peeling Pie" book.
